MISS WORLD 2010: Alexandria Mills visits Philippines for the second time, attends Charity Gala Night!

Miss World, Alexandra Mills, Julia Morley & Emma Wareus visit Tuloy Foundation orphanage

The Fiesta Pavillion of the Manila Hotel, Philippines, was host to a Charity "Beauty With A Purpose" Gala Night on September 13th 2011. Donations totaling several million pesos were made in aid of homeless and deprived women and children nationwide. 

In attendance of this special evening was reigning Miss World, Alexandra Mills, along with US Ambassador, Harry Thomas. A range of paintings, sculptures and pieces of artwork were donated by renowned artists which were sold in a silent auction.

MISS WORLD: Alexandria Mills visits Indonesia!

 Miss World Alexandria Mills arrived in Indonesia today as a special guest for the 2011 Indonesia final, which takes place on Friday 3rd June in Jakarta's Central Park. Thirty-three finalists are competing, but only one can be crowned the winner, who will then go on to represent Indonesia at the 2011 Miss World Final, to be held in London on Sunday November 6th.

Last May 11th, Miss World Alexandria Mills and Miss World Africa Emma Wareus impressed the gathered students and alumni of the University of Cambridge as they delivered speeches in the famous Debating Hall of the Cambridge Union Society. Invited to speak by the world's oldest and most prestigious debating society, it gave the assembled audience a chance to hear about all aspects of what it means to be Miss World.

MISS WORLD UPDATE: Alexandria Mills at the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival

Miss World 2010 Alexandria Mills was specially invited to grace the catwalk at the 2011 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival held last week. Alexandria appeared alongside Miss World Africa Emma Wareus and Miss World 2nd Runner-Up Adriana Vasini of Venezuela at the LMFF Ready to Wear show held at Malvern Town Hall, Stonnington, featuring collections from celebrated local designers and brands. Since its inaugural event in 1996, the Melbourne Fashion Festival has become Australia's premier fashion showcase and aside from their own runway appearances, the Miss World representatives attended a variety of related events and shows in the city. Other special guests at the LMFF this year included supermodel Helena Christensen, editor Jefferson Hack, and actresses Melissa George and Andie MacDowell.

The Philippines is expected to host the next Miss World beauty pageant in August after the franchise was awarded to the country, reports Manila Bulletin. The 60-year-old franchise will be formally awarded to health guru and media personality Cory Quirino by Miss World Limited President Julia Morley today at Shangri-la Makati.

The exclusive search for contestants for the first Miss World Philippines pageant will begin in March, Quirino said in the Manila Bulletin report. The country's Miss World representative used to be chosen from participants of Binibining Pilipinas.

Airport officials told Manila Bulletin that holding the Miss World pageant in the country will increase foreign arrivals and tourism revenue.
