Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry was reportedly stabbed by an unnamed assailant this morning at the parking lot of the condo where Henry was settling.
According to the investigation made by the authorities, the former beauty queen was heading to her condo unit from the parking lot when a drug-crazed suspect stabbed at her back until she became unconscious. The 25-year-old Henry was rushed to St. Luke's Global City Hospital after the incident.
Probers identified the suspect as Jerome Quibuyen, 29, native of Victoria, Tarlac. He was arrested by security guards and brought him to the police. Charges of frustrated homicide were filed against him.
Mandaluyong City Police Chief Senior Superintendent Armando Bolalin said that Quibuyen stabbed Henry with a broken bottle at the California Gardens condominium at about 6 a.m.
Police said that Henry was reportedly walking to her condo when the suspect attacked her from behind without any reason.
Henry, a Filipino-Canadian, is the country’s first representative to win the Miss Earth beauty contest, the third largest beauty pageant in the world.
As of this writing, Henry is now on stable condition, although the doctors found out that her lungs was partly hurt.
