Mexico’s Ximena Navarrete, the 2010 Miss Universe, is on her first visit to India for promoting designer Celebrate The Girl Child Campaign. Ximena Navarrete was on 10 day tour to India with Disigner Sanjana Jon’s.
Ximena Navarrete visit to the Taj Mahal & the annual Surajkund Crafts Mela (Fair) in the northern Haryana region. Navarrete danced with some local artists & also purchased a shawl and had a portrait made of herself.
“This is my first visit to India and it is a beautiful country. It has a rich cultural heritage and shares similarity with Mexico as far as spicy food is concerned. I feel at home here,” she said.

Navarrete who is the global ambassador has dedicated her 10-day-tour Indian tour to to promote awareness about HIV & raise awareness about female foeticide.
The tour will kickstart next week at the Delhi University.
“We will be doing a 10 km marathon with the university students as they represent today’s youth and can act as a driving force for the cause,” Navarrete said.
