The ROYALS® Update: Philippines' new representative for Mister Gay World 2011 announced!

Due to recent turn of events, the Mr. Gay World Philippines (MGWP) organization has reached a decision that Sherwin Limon Abuel is ‘officially’ relieved from his duties and responsibilities as the country's representative to the upcoming worldwide search for gay male ambassador on January 24, 2011. Prior to pursuing this move, there have been considerable areas that were looked into and Mr. Abuel failed to meet certain guidelines set by the organization. The organization's decision is final and irrevocable. Taking over Abuel's title is the 24-year-old first-runner-up, Marc Ernest Biala.

MGWP organization was compelled to take the necessary actions toward Mr. Abuel’s ‘uncalled for’ behavior. Abuel repetitively threatened the organizer that he would be backing out from the competition, which in any way placed the entire team behind the contest in a bad light. He also misrepresented the pageant’s ideals and visions that made Abuel’s dethronement possible. The confidence and trust that was given to him was gone and the organization felt he would no longer be fit to represent the country as an ambassador of goodwill that aims to make a good example and impact to the rest of the gay men in the world.

The five feet eight inches tall, registered nurse, Biala takes on the title and competes with other gay men representatives on March 13 at Club Mwah, one of the most outstanding theater-clubs in Asia located in the Tiger City of Mandaluyong and to be hosted by Philippine King of Talk Boy Abunda along with one of the country’s top models Wilma Doesnt and 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman.

Macoy, to most of his friends, graduated magna cum laude of his class in St. Mary’s College in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. He is currently finishing his Masters of Science in Nursing and is writing his thesis focusing on family caregivers for the mentally-ill patients and will be another magna cum laude award for him. He also authored a nursing reference book titled ‘Psychiatric Nursing’ which is already distributed nationwide. Given all the credentials Biala has under his belt, MGWP is confident that he is the ideal country’s bet to the said tilt, which will commence on March 9th and will end on the 14th. Candidates from different countries will be presented on March 10 at Bed Malate and will be busy with bar tours and an outreach program.

This monumental event predicts the boom for the Philippines’ tourism industry as it attracts more foreign visitors to explore the beautiful spots and rich culture, the country has to offer.

Tickets for the grand finale are at Php2,500. Ticket reservations or bookings are now available online via mrgayworld.org. Also, for more details, visit mrgayworldphilippines.com.
